I have assembled many pieces of furniture over the years (including many IKEA pieces) so I am no stranger to building furniture from a box. I will admit, though, that my initial study of the instructions left me feeling a little overwhelmed. The very first step is pretty much "put it together, dummy!" I had to rely on previous knowledge of how to use cams, wood dowls, etc. but overall did not have any issues. Everything fit and was simple enough as long as you closely follow the instructions. Tips for successfully assembling this piece:1. Have a lot of room to lay out all of the pieces so that you can clearly identify them as needed2. Use a rubber mallet for easing the pieces together (a regular hammer will damage the particle board and veneer)3. Use a blanket or carpeting to lay everything on (scratches VERY easily)4. Follow instructions VERY carefully and step-by-stepGreat piece when properly assembled.
