I'm an avid hunter - mostly for deals on veggie hummus at trader joes ; and for organic saambaar powder. Anyway, I do a lot of hiking , and after just two short hikes , the boots feel so soft and comfy. To quote Theoden: "how is this possible?" Because....they LOOK so clumsy. (though, these have a classical profile). I'm able to run up stairs at 2 steps at a time, as if i have my sneakers on. Unbelievable. And yes I've also attempted wading through a stream, with equally unbelievable results.Even though I mistakenly bought the 400G (insulated version), its good up to 70 degrees and higher, as long as you have thin socks. So its good for fall/winter. And almost passable for business casual boots if you wear the right pants that cover the ankles. Maybe the uninsulated version is thinner and the profile is more palatable, but at my age, I'm not worried about looking good as much as having comfortable feet. Lets see how long these last. Now I need the right Danner for spring/summer.
