These are so cute with the straps but so classic in the color and style; wish they fit me! I have 17 1/2” calves at the widest part so I expect boots will be difficult to find. These seem to fit for someone who has 15 3/4” calves at the most.-My ankles are pretty thick too but the boot seems to have quite a bit of room in that area so it folds in when my foot is at certain angles, but not painfully because the leather is soft there.-My other concern from the photo was how much the toe lifted up—but in person it’s not bad at all... no witches shoes here!-The color was overall darker than the photo with less contrast between the brown hues. Not a big deal for me.-Getting my foot into the base was a little tight with moderately thick socks but not a problem once I got my foot settled. I didn’t find trouble with tightness on top of my foot like the other review mentioned... and I do occasionally have that problem with sandals.-Finally, the smell was a bit strong... mix of leather and some sort of chemical I smell on other products directly from China. I figure that’ll go away in time.Had these fit me, they would have been keepers for sure. Bummer.
