These blinds were perfect for a unique situation I had. I installed new hanging planters/pots in a sunroom that I wanted to provide some protection against too much direct sun but didn't have space for typical size curtains/blinds. These 12" wide blinds allow light but still provide shade and look very beautiful in addition. I find that I lower them at times when I don't need to, just because they look so cool as a backdrop to my plants.Note that the original valance is twice as long; I customized it to this shorter length which was easy to do because of push-pin attachments. They do require much patience when rolling up as they always seem to skew, but they are exactly what I needed and I'm very happy with them.Love the Ramie Linen window blinds roller shades. Got them for my French doors in the bath. Liked them so well I ordered one for my front door. Excellent quality.
