Favorite women's winter gloves Favorite women driving gloves My leather gloves are stiff, will this change? Leather is a natural product and it is very common that your gloves, especially in the beginning, will feel stiff or rigid. By wearing your gloves, the leather will become more supple and the glove will mold itself to your hand - that's the beauty of leather. If you have been caught out in the rain and your gloves are soaking wet, please don't put them on the heater, as this makes the leather very stiff and hard. Let them dry in a sheltered place and if the leather has become stiff, it certainly helps if you rub your gloves again with leather gel. Which leathers do you have? DEERSKIN LEATHER: Deerskin has a long history and is often associated with the Native Americans who used it as a barter item for trade. Thanks to the versatility of the leather, it is still widely used today. Deerskin is characterized by its softness, versatility, and durability. Because deerskin is very supple, it lends itself perfectly to making strong and durable gloves. As it is worn more, the leather becomes softer and softer and the glove begins to mold more and more to your hand. Which leathers do you have? LAMBSKIN LEATHER: Lamb leather is a leather that is often used for both clothes and gloves. It comes in a variety of types and finishes. Usually, lamb leather or lambskin refers to a nappa or smooth quality. Lambskin leather is typically soft and delicate to the touch and is considered a very lightweight leather. The leather is thin and supple, meaning you will not experience a loss of feeling and grip when wearing them. Most of our gloves are made from Lambskin leather. Lambskin leather is the best leather where it concerns suppleness, softness and wearability. Next page

As a number of other reviewers have noted, these gloves do tend to fit quite small (see my update below). I originally ordered an XL (my normal size) based on many people's complaint that the fingers were too long (something I was actually counting on). However, when I received them, I did not find this to be the case. Though, to be fair, I am 6' 8" and 205 lbs, so I do have some rather large, albeit thin, hands. I returned the XL and placed an order for a second pair in XXL and even they were still too small, but manageably so.My advice to any would-be customers, "Get at two sizes larger than what you would normally wear."That aside, I was very pleased to discover that these are an exact replacement for a pair of gloves I had up until a couple of years ago. After almost two decades, they finally started showing their age and began to come apart at the seams on a couple of the fingers. I did sew them back together, but 20 years of wear and tear had taken its toll on the leather. I'm hoping these will last me as long, if not longer.**UPDATE** Due to a little mishap, I found myself having to replace my gloves with a new set. Having previously purchased the XXL, I knew were slightly too small. Unfortunately, the seller did not have any XXXL in stock. I was relegated to going with the XXXXL, figuring they would probably be too big but better than too small (again). However, I was pleasantly surprised to discover the 4X large was actually a perfect fit for my hand! As you can see from the photo of my one remaining left-hand glove laid on top of the new pair's left-hand glove, the difference between the double and quadruple large is almost 2 inches in length. This is a much, *much* better fit for me and I have to admit, I'm remarkably pleased. I would most assuredly purchase these again...and in XXXXL.I first ordered the medium gloves because my hands measured to be about 8.75". And according to the chart mediums were for 8.5" and large for 9.0-9.5. But the gloves I received were too big. Finger length was about right, perhaps just a little bit too long. I sent them back and got a free replacement in the small size (8"). These were rather tight and the fingers just a bit too short but acceptable. After wearing a few times, the gloves easily stretched to now fit my hands like, well..like a glove ;-)The leather seams to be decent quality and the lining is nice and comfortable.I had to order three different sets of gloves from three separate venders until I finally got a pair that fit well. so the sizing issue did not surprise me. Having free returns/replacements is critical for anyone wanting to buy 'fitted' gloves online. This will be my second time returning these gloves. The first time they were a size small (that was my bad for not double checking the size after the went out of stock so it reverted it back to a small) This time around, I don't believe I got the same pair of gloves in a bigger size, it says medium but they were short, barely covering the palms of the hands and the pinky on the left glove was sewn shut. I don't think I'll reorder again, I don't want to have to go through this for a third time. These gloves are a joy...warm and stylish. Note that the thumb is a bit long, as other reviewers have stated, but that's probably not to be avoided, as thumbs do come in different relative lengths! To be noted, however, is that these gloves fit large. I purchased a "medium," as my hands are by anyone's definition a medium size. I was swimming in the gloves, however, and had to return them for a size small, which fit perfectly.Purchased as a gift for a future son in law. He loves these gloves. They are soft and fit well. You cannot go wrong with Fratelli Orsini gloves.Beautiful soft gloves. My husband was very impressed with the quality of them. The gloves run small so I would recommend going a size upGloves fit ad expected. Measured hand and selected Large size from chart as listed in product listing. These gloves are supple soft leather and warm for casual wear ( not working gloves)First, the good: great-quality materials, buttery-soft leather and a soft inside. We ordered a size up based on reviews, and it was still a weird fit-- the thumb was really short, so the space between the thumb and forefinger didn't fit closely around the hand and probably would have ripped eventually. Had to return!
