The easy to use Thermostat Control feature regulates the fireplace to maintain the perfect heat setting for your home. This vent-free product may be used as a vented product. To operate as a vented product you must always operate the log set with the chimney flue damper open. You must install the damper clamp (included). This will insure vented operation. I love warmth from this fireplace. I only wish I had purchased one with a controller because you have to turn this one on and off manually. It was very easy for my brother in law to install and he said it is well built. It works well and all in all is well worth the money.
