Fence Guard stain concentrate is available in four popular semi-transparent colors: Espresso, Coco Brown, Western Redwood, and Sierra Cedar. This is a water-based alkyd formula which provides penetrating oil finish but with easy water clean-up and ultra-low VOC. Fence Guard dilutes with 2 parts water to 1 part concentrate to produce a cost effective, high-quality penetrating stain for wood fences of all types. Fence Guard offers superior protection against the elements, with fade resistant high quality pigments and long-lasting water repellency. This product is concentrated and must be diluted with 2 parts water to 1-part product, to create an effective working stain solution. I used this to spray over an old cedar fence that was half sprayed years before with a dark brown stain and this water based stain covered the old stain and sections of fence without stain so it appeared to all be this one color stain. I used a simple pump sprayer and no issues. Mixed water/stain ratio according to directions.
