I bought a set of 4. one came with a slight defect, but they replaced it. So other than that minor resolved issue I could not be happier. They look great, and I think they feel very stable (one of the negatives in other reviews). One thing the helped with the stability I think was to add 1.5 inch round heavy duty felt pads to the bottom of the 'feet'. They are hard rubber feet out of the box, I added the felt to aid in sliding and not marking up the wood floors. To my surprise I felt it was more stable also. Perhaps it allowed they weight to distribute better?? Anyway great chair, easy to assemble 1 person 15-20 minutes a chair using an Allen driver vs the silly tool in the box.First off, we like the "look" of the chairs, bought 6 of them. HOWEVER! 3 of these chairs had loose "BB" like bits of slag (welding remnants) that were in the box, which also contaminated the swivel bearings. The result is a very distinct grinding noise when turning the chair, sometimes binding it up all together. The slag is embedded into the bearing grease, and the bearings cannot be disassembled (as far as I can tell). So, 3 of the chairs are going back, and here is hoping that the next 3 chairs don't have the same issue.Update: I received 3 new chairs to replace the chairs with the bearing contamination issue. I noticed that one of the screws that was holding the seat cushion on the mounting rail had fallen out. I tried to put it back in, but realized it was stripped when originally assembled which caused the issue. After looking closer, two of the bolts that held the mounting plate to the chair bearing plate were also stripped. Two of the replacement chairs had to be returned as well. These chairs are nice looking once you get one that is free of defects, but I have had less than a 20% success rate in getting a quality product. Of the six I ordered, I have returned 5 for workmanship problems.very nice looking stool seems very well built does require assemble the first one took 15- 20 minutes then I got a power driver out buy the time I got to the fifth one I was assembling them in three minutes flat that's after un boxing and laying out the pieces put the washers on all the screws first place padded side down on the floor put legs on first leave leg screws loose put center ring in than tighten all screws turn stool over onto its feet hand screw all for screws into back then tighten them and done very simple easy. the trick is to start the screws with your fingers than tighten things after you get them all in the four stars is because I would like the back of the stool back another inch or two but others that have sat in them really like them so its personalUPDATE: Since owning the chairs now for a week, I have noticed that I'm sliding out of chair. I have to firmly lock my feet on the foot rest to keep this from happening. We had guests over on Saturday, who told me that they too were sliding out of the chairs. We received the chairs on schedule. It was easy to put the chairs together. All needed tools/bolts/screws were provided. It took about 1.5 hours to assembly four chairs. The chairs seem to be well built and sturdy, and look nice around our breakfast area and bar. However, one thing I notice was the wood backing on the top of one of the chairs was rough to the touch. It was not sanded and varnish properly. My concern is that articles of clothing could catch/snag on the chair. I will contact manufacturer to address problem.I just put together 4 of these chairs. The assembly time took about 10 minutes per chair and was fairly simple only needing the supplied hex key. They appear sturdy and easily hold my 220lb frame. Each package was missing some of the hardware so be prepared to visit your local hardware store. The screw sizes were 1/4 x 20. I'd have a couple ready in both 1/2 inch and 3/4 inch black if you can find them. Overall I am happy with the purchase and would buy them again.Didn't like the sturdiness of this stool, I have big people in my family and they would break down in a short time.Returned for something sturdier.i already had two chairs from a yard sale, but needed another one. i neglected to check on the chair height. the two i have are counter height and this one is bar height. My mistake. I still find the chair as being sturdy and well put together. However, when following the directions that come with the chair, reverse the second to the last instructions at the end. it said to fasten the socket bolts firt, but you should do the other first to help it line up better.I would have given these chairs a "5" if it hadn't been for the fact that one of them (I got 4) had the holes misaligned and I had to pay to get new holes drilled to attach the back. Other than that, they're well made and solid and look great.
