Gert price and well builtThis holster is great for carrying the 4.5lb Smith & Wesson 460 XVR with the 8-3/8” barrel. The fit and finish is really nice. The straps are nylon webbing and do very good at their job. It’s a little pricey especially considering you have to purchase an additional $50 bandolier to go with it if you choose. Overall very happy and would recommend.Follow the break in instructions included, and it fits the Dan Wesson 445 Super Mag with 8 3/8" barrel perfectly. I got the .41/.44 mag etc. bandolier because I accidentally ordered the wrong one (my own fault) because of a mistake I made by looking at the picture on the listing which was the .500 sw mag bandolier. Overall though, a really great buying experience from amazon and Opticsplanet.com, two truly great and helpful entities.*****Actual Shoulder Holster Review*******AMAZING PRODUCT. It is FULLY adjustable to any situation. If you're going to be wearing it over a HUUUUGE winter coat, no problem. I am approximately 56" across the shoulders and 42" at the waist and I had PLENTY of spare room for adjustment! (build is most closely described as a lumberjack power lifter, for anyone wondering)If you wrap the gun in the plastic bag the holster came with and slide it into the holster and get it set all the way in and let it sit for a few days, it breaks in rather well. Remove the bag and then just put the gun itself in and you'll be ready to fend off all the grizzly's in style!So customizable, you can adjust it to any size and any preferred (right handed) carry methods. You can make it hang a little lower or a little higher or with more or less cant, amazing!The holster and the straps are so very comfortable and stylish, absolutely beautiful and 100% functional. A truly masterful creation. The holster, with gun in, sits perfectly on me and allows for free and easy walking and maneuverability. Whether jumping on and ATV or in the truck the holster is NEVER a burden. You will also be the talk of the group and women may magnetically attach to you because of your overflowing ambiance of masculinity.If you're looking for a comfortable way to carry your large revolver (Mine is the SW 500 Mag 8 3/8" revolver) this is a truly great buy. I use this weapon as a large animal defense tool when I'm hunting, fishing, or working (fish biologist).First let me say you may be able to find this holster for less than the $185.95 price this one cost. Right now (during the holidays) they are out of stock with many main stream suppliers and as I was getting it as a gift I decided to go ahead and pay this price. Normally and with a little looking around you should be able to get this from $20 - $40 less. On to the holster. Galco makes possibly the best production holsters and leather accessories for your firearm out there and only is exceeded by custom makers (at times) and only the very best of them. This one is listed for the X-Frame .460 but it is also for the X-Frame .500 Mag. That is in fact the weapon that this one was purchased for and it is a perfect fit. As to fit. leather will stretch and conform to a degree and Galco recognizes this. When you first receive this (or any other leather Galco holster) you will find the fit extremely tight and holstering and upholstering will seem a problem. It is not! Take your weapon and place it into the holster. This may take some effort at first. Even better, wrap the weapon with one layer of a plastic bag like you get from your local grocery store and then put the weapon in the holster. Let it sit that way for several days. After that, you should find your weapon will fit much better and at the same time comfortably snug. I gave the rating of 5 stars based on the quality and craftsmanship Galco offers here and ignored the somewhat higher than many price in the rating. Caution, this is holster only and not the ammo holder which you will have to order separate. But, do that as it makes a huge difference in the appearance. Straps are easily changed around for fitting to whatever you are wearing be it just your shirt of any sized jacket/coat. Again, this is an exceptionally well made holster that is easy to adjust and simply looks great!Great workmanship. Sturdy holster.Snug fit for my 500 magnum.Nice and snug fit for my 500, great quality of leather, about as comfortable as you’ll get carrying a X frame with 8 3/8” barrel.Perfect fit… it needed some good leather lotion and a bit of stretching but it’s the best quality leather “out there!”
