You can use a carpet cleaner (shampooer) but it should be dried immediately and evenly..In case of creases - roll the rug in the opposite direction, while applying pressure to the rug - take the edge, flip it where there is a crease, and slowly pull the rug back, while applying a downward pressure on the crease

I have this rug in my loft area on hardwood flooring. I had to buy a carpet pad to keep from sliding all over, but well worth the extra cost. The colors are vibrant, pile feels great to the touch. Works perfectly in the space I need it for. The corners take time to lay flat so is a tripping hazard if you are not careful. I have some heavy objects on the corners now to get them to lay flat. I really loved this rug so much bought another larger size for a bedroom. I'v only had the rug a few days so can't speak for how well they will hold up over time, but at this price point I am not going to worry about that.
