Kabar makes a great knife. The USMC knife itself is a classic. Leather feels good, almost as hard as wood, and gives a really good grip.Only thing I need to say that was bad about the one I got was that the foreward grinds were off by a sixteenth of an inch. It doesn't sound like much, but as a result the tip looks a little weird, and when I place it flat on a surface as if to sharpen it, a slight bend is able to be seen. However, Kabar has a fantastic limited lifetime warranty - planning on sending it in and seeing if this grind flaw counts to a replacement kabar. BTW the powder coating wears off a little easily.BUT despite the grind flaw, everything else is pretty much perfect. Even with the grind the knife is still super sharp (hair shaving), and very strong. With a little sno-seal, leather handle should be good against water. It feels great in the hand.
