The colors are vibrant, especially the blue. The bottom is stamped and signed by the maker along with "Hand made in Poland". The jar has two flat sides (front and back) and two curved sides. The jar has two holes on each curved sides for ventilation (four total holes).Outside dimensions are: 7.0" wide, 5.1" front-to-back, and a hair under 6" tall to the top of the lid.Inside, it is 3.5" deep (to the bottom of the lid). The lid hole is 3.25" diameter.Many people worry about buying ceramics online due to the risk of being broken in shipping. The jar was very well packaged. It was packaged in a box-in-a-box with padding at three levels. Excellent care was taken in packaging.
