Background story --We live in South Florida --- intense sun and hard tropical rains year round. The pavers around our pool are about 20 years old.As the photo shows, they have faded in color due to exposure over that time.Otherwise they are in great shape. So I decided to try this product.I first did the sealer test.Well they warn you this product will not work if there is sealer on your pavers. The test ? put water on your pavers --- If they bead the water and do NOT change color, then you have sealer on the pavers. In out case, the water does NOT bead .. and the pavers always look much deeper and darker colored when wet(actually I wish they looked all the time the way they look when wet !!)So we passed that test.I read the instructions and watched the YouTube video for the proper brush technique. So on a warm, sunny day I applied the first gallon jug of solution with color pigment slurry. The pavers looked great .... nice rich dark color.Over night the pavers dried. The next day they were much lighter .. but still a deeper color than the untreated pavers.I assumed this meant the pigment and penetrated into the porous pavers. So far so good,The next 3 days were dry and sunny. That was good ... should be plenty of time for the pigment to set in and be fused into the concrete pavers.Day 4 --- a typical tropical rain storm. The next day ......... sun was out .... pool area dry.POOF ....... all color gone.It was impossible to tell where I had applied this treatment .ALL the color was gone !!Looked just like I had done nothing.Theories ?Maybe sometime in the far distant past maybe somebody had used some kind of organic sealer (not water based) that had penetrated deep into the pavers and blocked all the pores so that they are now unable to absorb and retain any color pigment.I have no way of knowing .... I know there is no recent sealer on these pavers because of us ..... and they passed the "Sealer Test" suggested by the makers of this product.Bottom Line ..... If you do not know the entire past history of your pavers -- be careful -- it seems from other reviews -- under ideal conditions this product MIGHT work --- but since we are just typical pool home paver owners , I suspect others will have the same failure we did with older pavers. The product is fairly easy to use and it does make the pavers look new. The Berry color was very effective but the Smoke color required 2 coats to look good. Very pleased with the outcome.Good cover, easy to apply but not sure if there is a bang for the buck given the gallon of mixer is a bit small for the amount of coverage I need.Colors are great. But product washes off in the rain especially if you have aggregate in your pavers. Although told i had to spread by brush, i used a pump sprayer and shook the bottle frequently so it went on fast. I mixed the entire jar into the gallon of solution. Relatively expensive but color looked great. I did seal it. Unfortunately it rained before the sealer could cure so the color got mixed with the sealer. Hard to execute when it rains so often! I recommend the pump sprayer if you shake it. All in all, good product but hard to execute outside given uncertain weather to seal product.
