I have had numerous trail cams all ranging from 40$-100$ I decided to buy this for the 2021 whitetail season on the east coast. Worked flawlessly through the season. that camera was forgotten in the woods since last season. There’s no water inside no messed up batteries and it’s still working with 1/2 battery life. Well to say the least I am now sold I will be purchasing more!love this camera, works greatThe daytime pics are very clear, but nighttime a little grainy, but still pretty good. Very sturdy, but a bit complicated to set up. We had to go to YouTube to figure it out.I’ll update this review in the future if necessary. First impression not good. Instructions were good. Set all parameters as I wanted them. Then the instructions suggested I do a test in setup mode. You’re supposed to put it in setup mode and set the camera someplace where you can make some motion in front of the sensor. If everything is working correctly, there is supposed to be a blinking light on the front of the camera when it detects motion. I was never able to see any blinking light, no matter how close or far away I was from the camera. So I moved forward and placed the camera on my back deck, pointing where I know we have critters show up every night. We’ll see how it functions in the “full on” mode rather than the setup mode. If it works correctly, then I won’t worry about the test in setup mode, even though that should have worked as described in the owners manual. More to come! Fingers crossed.Folks , this camera is better than my 4 other brand name camera's,easily !It's simpler to use and program. It is clearer and has better sound . And it does night video as good as daylight ! I have been using trail cams for years, this one is cheaper and better, then Wild game,Moultrie, and Stealth, and Bushnell .It's detection sensor is Remarkable to say the least,It actually picks up a cat at over 40 feet at night! I have never seen another camera even come close to this, never! And it was a black cat to boot. For the price ,this is my new Brand. It truly is a step ahead of everyone else, other camera's claim new for 2019,and the picture quality is still 2015.This one is an eye opener,I have not received a penny, or free camera for this review. Be nice though! Winks! I actually had a deer squinting, literally,at this camera, like did I see something, but kept on eating, never seen a deer squinting. It really is a steal,at this price.I am buying more of them, you can't lose on this one folks, hands down,a Fantastic camera, fantastic detection sensor. It really is a great night time camera, and the sound is great too! The new 940 Ir works better than 850 Ir ,this might just catch Bigfoot ,animals could see 850 Ir this one has them squinting to see if they see something or not, none of the otherThis camera is relatively easy to setup. It triggers at the slightest movement, even by grasses moved by wind, so I throw out a lot of images. When I download images, sometimes all the images do not download, so I eject the card, reload it, import again, sometimes twice, to get them. I suspect this could be a glitch in the camera because I don't have this problem with other memory cards. I use the memory cards interchangeably with my trail cam and my camera, reformatting before reusing. It's a minor problem, but I do have to pay attention. I know the last image on the card is of my arm, opening to turn it off and remove the card. Night photos are infrared, so not great photos, but you can see clearly what had been past the camera. Daylight photos seem to come out overly sharpened and thus slightly less realistic. Again, this is not fine art photography and you certainly get the information you're looking for. I have not used other brands, so no comparison is possible. The product new is very reliable - I bought three of these cameras as like new which is usually just opened and returned. That was not the case- Probable a 2+ year old camera- Rust on the battery terminals and broken lens. A second one i ordered was similar- Not sure who is doing Q/A to make sure this doesn't -happned. Its a PIA to wait open and return. I am 1 for 4 with Like New cameras-- Usually broken or defective.Seems easier to just buy new. This is my third trail camera of this brand in roughly this price range. The first two died after a year to two years of use. This one is functioning after two or three months, battery life looks as though it should be decent, it probably picks up most motion, although I haven't tried to test that. Illumination at night is adequate up to about forty feet. Resolution is not especially good. Overall if it only lasts as long as the other two I would say it is what I would expect of a camera that cost about half what this lists for, mainly because of the image quality. But I only paid about half what it lists for, and Bushnell has stood behind their warranty on the one occasion when I used it, so I'm satisfied that I'm getting what I paid for.I bought this camera as had been lent one by a friend. However I failed to notice subtle differences between his and the one I ordered - they seemed identical but I was wrong. This camera does not have a hybrid setting - where the camera takes stills before capturing video of the same event. That was my error and I have learned a massive lesson - but you do need to dig down into the specific capabilities of the camera you order beforehand. The nighttime video is clear, I haven't taken any stills with it.Good video quality in daylight. As other reviews have pointed out, the length of nighttime video recording is limited to 15 seconds - not ideal at all. The time is much longer in daylight. The video sizes are 1280x720 or 640x360The battery section of the camera is fiddly - you would be best to fit the batteries in from the outer edge (next to where the clasp is that closes the camera) and work inwards. You can set the interval between shots down to 1 second. If you use the camera to format your SD card you will get the Bushnell logo and other bits of stuff on the bottom of your pics/videos. Suggest you use your laptop to format the SD card. It's fine for videos at night and I will continue to use it but it's not the camera I was hoping for.Onto my other issue....I also had no idea when I ordered this camera from the Amazon page that this item was being sent from a supplier in the USA. It did arrive at the allotted time, even with the Covid crisis. Delivered by Fedex and they notified of tracking. However - there is a hidden charge - as with most imports you get additional charges - Import Duty. If you get the item by post the Royal Mail levies the charge. On this occasion it was delivered by Fedex and I have now received an additional £29.06 charge from them to be paid to them!!!! They call it an advancement fee. It's all very clear on the Fedex website (GB duty and tax).I would suggest looking at ordering this camera or any other from a UK store in future.EDIT -UPDATEThe night time LEDs have failed just over a year later. Waiting to hear if it's under warranty and what can be done but not holding my breath as I'm expecting to have to return to US at significant cost let alone the cost of reimporting it should they be able to do anything !Very poor video trigger time. The subject has almost exited stage right by the time the camera gets around to starting to film in video. If video recordings are important to you, then this is not the camera for you. A very expensive mistake! This worked perfectly for 8 weeks then refused to save date, time and video settings! New batteries did not help. No reply from support lines.Good camera recommendedI liked this camera so much that I bought two. The videos were crystal clear. Several months after purchase however, one of the cameras stopped taking videos and would only take still photos. We tried everything to reset it but no luck. A phone call was made to Bushnell followed by numerous emails and there was absolutely no response from them. There is a one year warranty on the camera but who knows how to get it! Looking at other customer reviews, there are a lot of people who have had the same experience. Save your money to buy a camera that has good reviews and good follow up customer service. Sadly this is not the one.
