I commute daily with these. They get warm in the summer due to the waterproofing but are so otherwise comfortable that the heat is forgivable. Pair these up with smartwool socks for moisture wicking and it's a good combo. Forget about MX socks. I've done some mild hiking while out on ling rides with these. I had to leave behind a couple riders to go exploring because they couldn't walk in their boots. My only beef is that the top of the boot must be made for riders tucking in really bulky pants or with large calves. The angle of the top strap is a little awkward when trying to close up on my skinny legs. There is also no shifter protector so the top of that boot will get dark quick. After 6 months of 110 mile days a couple long trips they've left me with no regrets. Maybe I'll try the non-oiled later for summer riding.
