Hedgehog Mother Silicone 3D Mold for Soap, Sugar, Fondant, Chocolate & Marzipan - Perfect for DIY Crafts, Baking & Candy Making

OMG where to begin with this mold.I read the description before purchase because it is expensive and I needed a specific hedgehog mold for FOOD.1. States a food grade silicone mold.2. Shows a clear picture of a finished non-food product made with the mold, NOT the mold itself.3. Sows background pictures of other molds but you can't really tell the quality.4. States they have "American companies" that assist them. I feel that means "sells" their products not "quality control" of their products.5. Does not state that the delivery is from DHL for overseas delivery from China AND you MUST be home to sign for the package.6. Delivery window from DHL is 12 hours.7. You find out about your delivery date in an email AFTER departing from China by this time it is out of your hands if you need to make any changes.7. You cannot get a timeframe of delivery. Despite desperatly contacting DHL I was told that someone had be available to sign for the package. After making several arrangements to make sure the day was covered it arrived at 8pm!8. Would NEVER use the mold for food.I needed this size mold for a food grade project. I was very excited to find one that fit with a theme for a party. It arrived quickly and I was very excited to see it despite having to make arrangements for people to be here to sign for the package. I quickly opened the well packaged box and when I finally saw the mold I was stunned. It was a large square, this is not always unusual for a large 3-D mold used for what the seller claims. Also, food grade silicon molds for professional bakery projects are expensive and if used correctly they should last a long time.What was unusual was the color, feel, and standard of the silicone. This is not a food grade mold by my standards or anyone else I know. I was stunned to see an opaque milky looking square. It came in 2 interlocking pieces each making half the hedgehog. It was gelatinous and left a film substance on your hands. It wobbled like firm jello. IT IS NOTHING LIKE ANY SILICONE I'VE EVER SEEN OR OWNED. I would NEVER, EVER use this for any type of food. This is NOT suitable for use with chocolate as they claim. It is disgusting.The only reason I gave this 2 stars is because I'm sure it would work for soap and candle making as it claims. I'm also positive that if used for soap or candles, especially candles that you will have difficulty trying to get the silicone parts to fit together and more importantly staying together until it sets. There is no locking mechanism, just two "jelly type" silicone pieces attached to the mold that fits into two openings on the opposite side. Since it was so gelatinous you have to manipulate it to fit because the insert piece kept bending. Once both sides are put together they don't stay together well and there is a slight gap even while it is freestanding without any product in it. It will definitely dislodge and leak once you fill it with something. I know if it was filled with chocolate that it would leak out because the mold must be together to be filled. You will have to use rubber bands or hold it together with your hands until it sets.I would NEVER use this for food. I have lots of silicon molds for chocolate and candy making and this is like nothing I've ever seen. I was immediately suspect upon first sight but recoiled as soon as I touched it, dropping it on my counter and immediately washing my hands. It wobbled the whole time.The only reason for the 2 stars is because it is detailed and looks like the picture. I am not a candle or soap maker but I imagine that the soap would look just like the picture. I would be leary to pour hot wax into the mold unless it was put together and secured well so it won't leak and burn you.
