Imperial RG0716 Heavy Gauge 12x24 Inch Brown Floor Return Air Grille - HVAC Vent Cover for Home, Office & Basement Airflow

I had a grate from an old floor heater which the HVAC people took off and reused for a grate. I got ripped off on that one. I called around and no HVAC company would come to replace it. I piddled around for almost a year trying to keep the old one back together. Then one of my dogs stepped on the old one and it bent! I had set patio chairs over it attempting to stop any traffic to step on the old grate in the meantime. Now I was forced with a hole in the floor. I looked around. Called and spoke to grate people. What a hassle that was. I had estimates from $400 to $900 for this silly grate. They told me 6 to 8 weeks to get the new grate. And, no helpfulness. Made it sound like an impossible task. And, no refunds once I ordered theirs. I was scared about the hole and sizing of the next new grate. I looked at one on Amazon that was around $79.00. And, I looked at this one. This one seemed to have more grates per square inch. I wanted a sturdy one as people come to my house and I don't want them falling through the HVAC draw hole. Geeze the dog almost did on the past one. I'm a woman 73 years old. I was fearful of the task on my own. Though I was at one time handy. So I thought about it for a week...which one did I want to buy/try. And, then I thought nobody's hole is going to measure the same. What was throwing me off was my size hole was not exactly to the measurement. So I said, to myself, well I'll have to try and see. The other companies that wanted major bucks tried to convince me I could never do this on my own. I took the old one out which was more work then the new. The new just sat and fit in there with ease. It fits! Its sturdy! I am impressed to the max. I did it myself. You know that old saying, "Those that help others, when they need help never get it." Well that's the way its for me. I did this myself. And, it fit! Easy installation. I am impressed and very pleased. It came fast too. I was in a pickle as with this time of year I have people coming to my house. I don't want anyone falling into the hole plus wrecking the A/C heating ducking on their way to the ground as my house is not flush with the ground. I have an old 85 year old house. It worked. Try it you'll find the same thing! Lastly, this is made in Canada not China! I'm glad I purchased this and I'm relieved. I never thought of looking at Amazon for this. Great product. Can't say enough at this time. It arrived Friday. I installed it today Sunday. Quick 1 week to get the product not 6 to 8 weeks. When you need it you need it. Now I think if your hole is near 30x14 which mine is, its will fit. Mine was 30.5 by 14. In fact that's the size of the disposable filters I use. Its not something that needs to be exact as these are made to fit them all. It fits!
