Now you can customize your own No. 10 by sculpting the curly birch 11mm thick, 4 3/4" x 1 3/4" slabs. The blade is 3 7/8" long and made using 3.8mm thick Austrian made O2 high carbon tool steel (Böhler K720) and heat treated to achieve a hardness of 58-60 HRC. The blade is ground with a shaving sharp flat Scandinavian grind and has a satin finish. After you shape your handle with the solid brass barrel nuts. A fun project on a rainy day!Be careful that you drill the handles correctly.The knife is sharp out of the box.I'm more or less a novice knifemaker who's built some real nice knives.I chose the Cassytrom #10 Swedish Forest knife since the Swede's know how to build a decent knife.And I like the curly birch handles as well.
