My son has been playing violin for a couple of years and was just asked to join the Honors Orchestra at the middle school. As a gift for his hard work this is the bow he selected. After trying 4 different bows the Codabow Prodigy was his selection. He finds it comfortable to hold, is light enough to move easily across the strings, and sounds much nicer than the bow provided in his starter kit.Although purchased via Amazon, we worked directly with Codabow to set up trials. Although not publicized on their website, they allow in-home, side by side comparisons. So we were able to borrow 2 bows simultaneously, the Prodigy to models in the Diamond line concurrently (we did 2 trials with different bow combinations). This gave us confidence that we were making the right choice.
