I've tried the other rug vendors and rugs are cheaper, but they look like remnants of wall-to-wall carpeting (polyester, cheap) with sewed edges. This rug is the real deal - a handmade rug and it's thick and comfortable. I've only had it a week, but it rolled out with a bit of a curl and now lies flat, and the rug smelled slightly the first few days but now seems almost odorless. Others here note the colors are muted and that's what I wanted. Also, in the photo, you'll see that the design is clear and not artificially "distressed" as in machine-made rugs. Lastly, I don't see any shedding, but I will be careful to set my vacuum to "high pile" to start so I don't damage the rug. Great buy.
