I searched in local stores and online to find an affordable cat tree that didn't take a lot of floor space and this one is perfect. My two active kittens really like this cat tree. It is built really well and very sturdy. The base is 20 inches square and is nice and tall. The carpet is attached securely to all parts of the tree. We purchased the blue color. It is a nice dark blue. They run and climb up and down and jump down from different levels and when they are tired they take naps on it. We have placed the tree in the living room in front of the picture window so that when our kitties sit or lie on the shelves they can look out of the window. We have used long wide colorful shoelaces to tie toys on the tree. This cat tree doesn't have sisal rope wrapped around one of the posts for scratching and we have fashioned our own by attaching 8 1/2 inch wide scratch ramp refills to all three of the posts using plastic zip ties. Our kitties are four months old and I know that when they get older and bigger that the curved shelves are large enough that they will accommodate them.
