Gotta love the smell of real leather when you open up a quality pair of boots! First purchase of a pair of Dan Post's and glad that I did. Quality out of the box is very good. Made in Mexico according to the stamp inside of the boot. The color of the upper is not black and not brown but rather kinda of a dark oil rubbed leather which is perfect for me. The color darkened even more once some leather conditioner was applied. As for fit they are true, though one boot does feel slightly bigger (or maybe one of my feet are slightly smaller than the other), either way have some thicker socks and that helped minimize the issue. At the price I paid for these and what was received would lead me to recommend them.
