Right off the bat, you need to know that this is a really great looking, great feeling, great smelling (if you like the smell of leather) guitar strap. The leather is soft, smooth (but with enough friction that it does not slide around on your shoulder), and nicely padded. The length is adjustable in the same way many other all leather straps made for Taylor and Martin guitars are. Is it expensive? Yes. It's the most expensive strap of any kind I have ever purchased. Is it worth it? I, personally, think so. It is exactly what I was hoping it would be. It is hard for me to imagine how it could be better or a better complement to my guitar. But when I was thinking about buying it, I couldn't find any reviews of the strap on Amazon or elsewhere, and I thought others might like to hear some subjective opinions about the strap.According to Taylor, this particular strap was designed specifically to mirror the Spring Vine pattern on the Taylor Koa series guitars and to complement the color pallet of those guitars. I have the Taylor K14ce, Builder's Edition, (solid Koa back and sides with a solid Sitka Spruce top) which is regarded by many reviewers and musicians one of the best built, best sounding (and in my opinion best looking) guitars Taylor has ever made. I had another Taylor leather strap for it, but it did not complement the guitar very well (lighter brown, rough leather).I know there are many who will say, "a strap is just a strap. If it holds the guitar up, that's all I need." People say the same kind of thing about cars being utilitarian transport. If you think that way, don't buy this strap. There are plenty of less expensive, fully functional straps out there. But, in my opinion, if you have invested in a guitar of the level of quality that this strap was designed for, it deserves a strap like this. Also, if you just want a fantastic looking, great feeling guitar strap, this will not disappoint. While I knew that this strap was actually designed to go with my guitar, there were no pictures of the strap with the guitars, so it was hard to know what that might look like. While the pictures I have attached are not the most artistic, and unfortunately don't show how great the dark brown of the strap works with the dark brown Koa wood tones, I hope they provide better evidence of how well they work together. I don't know how much Amazon will compress the photos, but you probably have to zoom in on the closeups to see the spring vine pattern on the strap. Photos really don't do this strap justice.I am not a Taylor employee, nor do I have any family members who are. I was not paid to write this review, and I paid full price for the one I bought. I own both Martin and Taylor guitars, and I love them both. I wrote this review because when I looked at the pictures posted by the vendor (not Taylor Guitars) on Amazon, they were not great pictures (not as good as the ones on the Taylor website) and they made the underside of the strap (the surface that comes in contact with your clothes) look like it was either a cloth material or some other rougher looking leather. The Taylor website made it look like it was padded soft smooth leather, and that's what I wanted. Google "Taylor Spring Vine Strap, Dark Brown Leather, 2.5" and you will find their photo. The reality is what you see in the images on the Taylor website. I also wrote this because I couldn't believe there were no reviews yet, and I obviously think people need to know how great it is. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up.
