Nice, thick carpet. Feel is a little more on the scratchy side than soft cottony side. We use it in our entry hallway, and it's perfect. It shed a bit in the beginning, so we had to do a lot of vacuuming the first 3 weeks. Some of the threading has pulled a little where our dog ran over it with toenails that were too long, but not really noticeable. For the price, it's great. The colors are a little nicer than what the picture shows (at least on my computer). It's lighter, not so dark gold but more cream with gold and dusky blue. I think the colors are gorgeous. I would buy this again.This rug is exactly what I was looking for. I made my decision based on others reviews. The colors are considerably more muted than in the photo which is what I was hoping for. I also went to the Safavieh website to get a more accurate idea of the colors. The background is more of a dark ivory/beige. The gold is not as bright as depicted in the photo. The blue is a nice accent along with the reds which can look a little more rust when the lighting is dark. I've had the rug about a week and a half. Shedding has been minimal for a rug this new. I would definitely recommend this rug and purchase again!I love walking into my walk-in closet now. I used to have little throw rugs that, although pretty & nice to my feet, would bunch up & trip me as I walked into my closet in the dark, as well as looking messy in the day. Now I have one big beautiful thick & soft magic carpet to wake up to... I wish I'd thought of it before; I feel so much calmer in my closet, more ready to face my day. The rug was easy to order, minimally packaged (this is a good thing), shipped accurately & quickly & easy to fit into its place. The measurements were accurate & the pattern true. Very happy with the process & the results!Bought this rug 2 years ago as it appeared to be a great price on an attractive rug that claims to be 100% wool. 3 main issues with it - it has a chemical smell to it that is inconsistent with other wool rugs I have. Second, and even worse, it has never, never stopped shedding. I'm amazed there is any rug left as every time I vacuum it the entire canister is filled with off-white rug shedding fibers. The fibers spread throughout the house and if you sit or lay on the floor your clothing is covered in shedding fibers. Lastly, and this is true for all the Safavieh rugs I have (this is the 3rd one I purchased here)- the photo of the rugs you are looking at from this brand appear to be an actual Oriental / Middle Eastern rug. The rugs you receive never look as authentic or antique as the representative picture.Colors were exactly as shown in picture. Rug is durable (placed in front of door) and great value.This is a good quality rug- nicely finished, heavy weight. I was hoping for a rug with the stated colors however the actual colors are very muted, and the rug appears to be mostly beige, I was certainly glad I bought a small one to test the color instead of a 9 X 12!!!Beautiful rug but sheds horriblyRug was in great shape when we got it, very well put together and colors are just as shown. This is a heavy rug and goes well with our surroundings.
