I loved these shoes, but after reading reviews and recommendations to size down (I'm a true 7.5) I ordered a 7. Big mistake...they were so tight that even with the leather stretching out over time, I knew they were never going to be comfortable. I returned these and ordered a size 8 which are perfect. The ankle strap seems a bit loose, even on the tightest setting, but I love the shoes. I wore them 6 hours the first day with lots of walking and had no issues with rubbing or slipping. Very comfortable shoe when you have the proper size. My recommendation is not to size down- but perhaps the best thing is to order two sizes and see which is better for you. FYI- once you know your proper size, there is an Avarca outlet where you can get them for a considerable savings.
